Feature Friday and GIVEAWAY!!!

And today's feature is...

1.Tell us a little about yourself (why you started your company, who you are)
My name is Lori McKee, and I'm from the beautiful city of Portland, OR. I'm primarily a graphic designer with my own business, which I love, but often feel the need to get off of the computer and do something 'hands on' and less corporate style. I started doing these paintings in the winter of 2009, when I needed some artwork for my own very white and empty walls. I couldn't find much artwork that I liked, and could afford, so I figured, why not make my own? After posting photos of my creations on my facebook page, friends saw them and encouraged me to try selling on Etsy. I was a bit nervous, but thought it sounded like fun, so I made a few paintings and jumped right in. After about a week, I had my first sell, and I was hooked! I loved the excitement and thrill of seeing how much other people liked my work and how they responded to it.

2. Tell us about your items in your shop
My shop is primarily filled with original paintings, and prints and cards made from those paintings. At one point I decided to try selling my jewelry creations on Etsy as well, but quickly discovered the jewelry market was already very saturated, and that I'd prefer to stick to painting. There are however a few random pieces of jewelry still floating around in my shop. One of my favorite parts about having a shop on Etsy, is the custom orders that I receive. I've met some wonderful people this way, and I love creating a piece that fits perfectly in their space.
